Trying to eat healthier can be a daunting task.
But by adapting our habits in small ways, we can make big changes. It may not feel significant in the moment, but they really add up. And it’s a bonus if the habits feel like something you can keep doing in the long-run!
Try these three simple tips to help make you a healthier eater. And it may event help you to reach your ultimate goals.
1. Prep fresh foods right from the store
In the split second you make the decision of what to much on between meetings, you will find it is that much easier to choose a healthy food if it is all prepped and ready to grab.
PRO Tip: Try putting your prepared food on a shelf that is eye-level (or close to it). It’ll be the first thing you see when you open your fridge.
2. Hydrate 3 times per meal
Keep a glass of water by your meal and have some at the beginning, the middle, and the end of your meal. Doing this will help you eat at a slower pace, and help your brain get the signals that you are full in a timelier manner.
3. Shift your portions
If you want to make a change to your diet but you are anxious about making a drastic change, start with shifting your meal balance. Strive to make the portion of protein and the portion of carbs on your plate equal. Fill the rest of your plate with veggies. Then sprinkle on fats at the end.
