Shake of the Month – Pumpkin Pie

Its officially October, so you know what that means – it’s officially Pumpkin season! While it has been the major trend for the last decade, pumpkin’s nutritional profile is something to marvel. The dark orange hue is a very concentrated source of Vitamin A (and related the antioxidant beta carotene) as well as Vitamin C. Both these nutrients have been shown to strengthen the immune system, which is particularly important as we enter cold and flu season. Pumpkin is also very high in potassium, which makes this shake a fantastic post-workout recovery, especially for those who tend to be “heavy sweat-ers”. Don’t forget the warming spices to the recipe for a truly pumpkin pie experience. Enjoy!
