RECIPE: Mediterranean 7+ Layer Dip

If you love Greek food, then this is the recipe for you!

This 7 (or make it 8 or 9) layer dip recipe is a twist on a classic appetizer. Make it for a colorful and flavorful afternoon snack while at home, but also keep it in mind for the next time you are in charge of providing an appetizer at a social event. The benefit of this recipe is how quickly it comes together.

Ingredients (below are ideas of layers to include; use the amount you want)

  • 1 container hummus
  • Tomatoes, diced
  • Bell pepper, diced
  • Cucumber, peeled and diced
  • Red Onion, diced
  • Kalamata Olives, pitted
  • Feta Cheese, crumble
  • Tzatziki
  • Mediterranean herbs, dried (can find in the spice aisle at the grocery store)

To Assemble

Pick a large plate or a shallow serving dish and spread the hummus on the bottom. Top with vegetables, olives, feta cheese, tzatziki, and a sprinkle of Mediterranean herbs on top. Refrigerate for 2 hours to let the flavors meld together.

Serve with fresh vegetables, pita chips or crackers.
