Did you know: Our skin is the largest organ on the human body?
Our skin serves to protect our bodies and it is effected by both external and internal aggressors that take a toll on functions and appearance. From the spa to your home, how we care for our skin has a significant impact on health and beauty. It requires 360 degrees of care from the inside out throughout every day of the year.
Today
Book a 15-minute complimentary skin consultation, or a Personalized Facial with a licensed Esthetician who can properly assess your skin for home care and future treatments.
Tip: Be sure to inform them of your current products, any prescription medications (oral or topical), and allergies, sensitivities or conditions that might make your skin compromised. Also inform them of any laser, waxing, injections or fillers that you received or plan to receive.
Year round
Antioxidants and broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen are musts. These will help protect the skin from free radical damage caused by UV exposure and other influences that contribute to the deterioration of the skin’s health and beauty.
Some of our favorite antioxidant serums include; IS Clinical Pro Heal Serum, SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF or CE Ferulic. If you’re looking for a sunscreen, we recommend SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion SPF 50 and Sheer Physical UV Defense SPF 50.
Tip: Don’t forget to apply proper care for your lips, neck, dĂ©colletĂ©, and tops of hands. These areas surprisingly receive similar exposure and damage. While genetics also play a large role in how our skin ages, we can combat negative effects through the way we treat our bodies. Healthy nutrition, regular exercise, appropriate sleep, stress management, adequate water intake, and supplements can all contribute in a positive way to how our skin looks.
Once every season
Discuss with your Esthetician how to best treat your skin at home based on outdoor conditions, travel and special occasions. Maybe it’s time to step up to a stronger retinoid, acid or enzyme for exfoliation or switch from a gel to a cream based cleanser. A thorough consultation can be done to help you make these decisions and achieve optimal results.
Once a year
Receive a full skin exam to check for irregular moles or other skin conditions. Most health insurance plans include full or partial coverage.
